Steve has 28 years of experience in the fleet maintenance management field. He began his career in fleet maintenance in 1978 after his tour in the United States Navy aboard a nuclear submarine, where he learned about work ethics and leadership. He started his civilian career in the truck maintenance field and brought these qualities with him, allowing him to successfully advance in the corporate world.

Throughout his career, Steve has held many positions in the maintenance field. He started as a technician working on the third shift in New Orleans, LA. After demonstrating he not only had the mechanical aptitude, but also the ability to make sound business decisions and lead others, Steve was promoted to Shop Foreman. Once in a position to demonstrate his management and leadership skills, Steve quickly became a Branch Manager. After making that branch a success, Steve became the Training Manager for the South Louisiana and Mississippi regions. In this position he successfully participated in the development and delivery of both management and technician training, which contributed to the region's continued success.

After being promoted to Area Maintenance Manager, his fleet knowledge and people skills once again allowed him to succeed. During Steve’s tenure as Area Maintenance Manager his area advanced from the bottom of the list to the top ten of his company’s 97 areas, as well as being the second most improved in the nation. As a result, he was selected to participate in a major software implementation at corporate headquarters. Along with fleet maintenance management abilities, the company needed someone with an in-depth knowledge of computer systems and programs.

Throughout his career, as computers and maintenance management software became the norm, Steve not only embraced the technology, but also excelled in it. He is always looking for new ways to computerize the tasks of fleet management, and has created several programs to aid Maintenance Managers to become more successful.
